How to Troubleshoot Changing a Standard LCD Monitor to a Widescreen Monitor
- 1). Click "Start," then "Control Panel," and click "Adjust screen resolution," located under the "Appearance and Personalization" list.
- 2). Click on the list beside the "Resolution" option to access the different resolution settings.
- 3). Select a different wide-screen resolution and click "OK." When you select a wide-screen resolution, you will see black lines above and below the preview monitor picture. Wide-screen monitors use different aspect ratios and some may work better than others with your standard monitor, so try each one to see the best fit. Some wide-screen resolutions are: 1680 --- 1050, 1920 --- 1200, 1680 --- 1050 and 1280 --- 800.
- 4). Select "Keep changes" to save the settings.
