How to Set the Keyer Up in HRD
- 1). Connect your transceiver to the computer serial port with a serial cable.
- 2). Launch the HRD program. A connection pane will load automatically.
- 3). Drag the scroll bar down until you see the manufacturer name for the transceiver connected. Click on it and then scroll down until you see the model name; click on that.
- 4). Click where it says "Com Port" and select "Remote." This configures HRD to assign the commands to the connected transceiver.
- 5). Choose "Connect." When prompted by HRD, enter your desired handle.
- 6). Select "Tools," "Programs" and "Remote Servers." This opens a new interface.
- 7). Click the "HRD Remote Server" button and then select "Configure." This prompts a text file to begin loading in the background. In this text file, type your user credentials.
- 8). Click the "HRD Serial Port" button and select "Configure." This establishes a communication channel between the program and the connected transceiver via the serial cable. You can now execute keyer commands remotely using the keyer command interface in HRD. Access the keyer command interface via the "Serial Port Client" menu.
