How to Connect Landscape Lights to Wires
- 1). Lay the kit out the way you want it. The transformer/timer needs to be near a power outlet. The transformer is rated for outdoor use only. Lay the main lead along the line where you want the lights---a pathway, for instance.
- 2). Grasp the connector from the first light with your right hand if you are right-handed. Grasp the main lead with your left hand.
- 3). Attach the light to the main lead. Identify the two small pins on the connector. The pins make the electrical connection. When the fastener is snapped closed the pressure causes the pins to penetrate the sheath on the main lead. There aren't any polarity issues with this kind of low voltage lighting.
- 4). Wrap the connector around the main lead and clip it closed over the main lead using force from your thumb and forefinger. The electrical contact will be established. Don't worry about shock---the system is low voltage. The clip will hold the connector in place.
- 5). Repeat with the other lights.
