Is Your Baby As Cool As You? Get Some Pirate Baby Clothes On Your Little Swashbuckler

Tell the truth. Your kid's fashion consists of only one or two colors. Three at the most. There isn't a great deal of variety when it comes to baby clothes. In every shop it's just the same standard colors and patterns. Bears, puppies, faires and maybe a train or two. Yawn. I found this to be the case until I discovered that pirate baby clothes were available from numerous online shops!

Right now, I'm not exactly recommending you put a patch over your kid's eye and give him a sword (although that would be cute too...), but I discovered wonderful little shirts and bibs with pirates on them that turned him into the edgiest baby at playgroup. These days wherever we go, I have other moms asking where I got his threads from. It's pretty flattering.

You'd think, after all the recent pirate movies, that clothing manufacturers would get the idea and start selling pirate baby clothes. But most don't, and so the stores are stuck with the same old things: pink and blue. Or they roll out the mystery colors (yellow and green) and pretend they're something new and different. It gets a bit tedious after a while, doesn't it? Sure, the pink and the blue are cute enough and they have their place, but sometimes I just want to be different. Splash out. Go crazy. Go piratical. But until now, there hasn't been much choice.

If you're anything like me, you will get a complete buzz out of surprising a new mom with a total original gift at her baby shower. Pirate baby clothes are not likely to be a gift that everyone else has bought! And if you're unable to resist the pirate eye patches and a child-friendly rubber sword, you can always get in early for baby's first Halloween and buy a baby pirate costume.

If you're not the type to have cuddly teddies embroidered on your clothes, then it's highly likely your baby's wardrobe needs to be a whole lot cooler too. Dress your baby as a pirate and not only will they thank you for sparing them the pastels, but in years to come when they look back at their baby pictures, they'll be relieved to know their mom had a sense of style. And, when you start showing their baby photos to their dates, they won't be quite so embarassed!

So, stand up against the pastels, say 'no' to the pinks and blues, and give your little pirate some dignity in his pirate baby clothes!
