Are Braided Pachira Only Indoor Plants?
- Braided money plant may be moved outdoors from the house after the last spring frost date. When fall frost threatens, bring the braided money plant back indoors to overwinter. In tropical regions where winter frost never occurs, it may remain outdoors year round.
- Appreciating moist, fertile soil and lots of heat and humidity, the braided money plant grows quickly, swelling its braided trunks into a knotty matrix. In a tropical climate, the money plant matures to 40 to 70 feet tall and 45 to 75 feet wide.
- Since the braided money plant grows quickly if brought outdoors in summer, you may need to repot the plant annually into a larger container to house the expanding roots. Root-bound plants will suffer, often losing leaves since water quickly drains from a pot with encircling roots and little potting soil.
