Preschool Water Crafts
- A fun water craft involves mixing water-based bubbles, which can be purchased at your hobby or toy store, and paint. Take a small child's cup and pour about ¼ cup bubbles into it. Add two tsp. washable paint to the bubbles and mix with a straw or a spoon. Allow the children to blow bubbles with this mixture for colorful bubbles. Place finger-paint paper in front of them, so when the bubbles pop, the children create a colorful piece of art.
- Preschool children don't require much in the way of supplies when they're creating art. A simple but enjoyable activity is water painting. Take a paint brush and a bucket of water and allow children to "paint" a sidewalk, driveway or fence. The children can get as creative as they want, and the mess disappears when the water dries.
- All you need for this project is paper, water, paint and a squirt bottle, such as a ketchup or mustard bottle. Fill the squirt bottle with one part paint to two parts water. Hang a large piece of paper on an easel or on a chain-link fence. Allow the children to squirt the paint on the paper, mixing colors and creating colorful pieces of art.
- When you're planning water crafts for preschool children, it is easy to overlook the obvious. Watercolors can provide hours of fun for children this age, and there is no prep work required. All you need are several sets of water colors, water and paper.
