How to Operate a Cannon Powershot SD600
- 1). Ensure your battery is fully charged. The PowerShot SD600 comes with a separate battery charging unit. Slide the battery into the charger, with the metal contacts meeting, and plug the unit into outlet power until the green indicator light turns on.
- 2). Insert your battery into the bottom compartment of the SD600 and slide the door closed until it clicks. This compartment is also where the SD memory card is located.
- 3). Push the top "Power" button on the SD600. The first time powering up, the SD600's date and time screen will appear. Use the directional wheel next to the display to adjust this information. Press "Function/Set" in the center of the wheel to accept the changes.
- 4). Set the SD600 to the camera mode, available as a camera icon on the switch above the directional wheel next to the display. Press "Function/Set" and use the directional wheel to select the type of lens and flash lighting. Press "Function/Set" again to accept the type of pictures to be taken.
- 5). Aim the camera and capture a photo with the top shutter button. To auto-focus, press the shutter button halfway for a moment before pressing entirely.
