How to Repair the Holes in My Bear Crotch Jeans
- 1). Lay the jeans out on a flat surface in front of you. Smooth the jeans so the legs are flat.
- 2). Measure each hole in the front of the jeans. Add 1 inch to the length and width of each hole measurement to account for frayed edges. Flip the jeans over and repeat this step for the back of the jeans.
- 3). Measure, mark and cut patches from the water soluble stabilizer that correspond with each of the adjusted hole measurements.
- 4). Turn the jeans inside out. Push the edges of the holes together as much as possible without changing the shape of the jeans. Position each patch over the center of the corresponding hole. Insert pins along the outer edge of the stabilizer patches. Make sure the pins do not pass through both layers of the jeans.
- 5). Thread the sewing machine. Sew multiple horizontal lines across each of the stabilizer patches. Continue making these lines until the entire width of each stabalizer patch is covered.
- 6). Sew vertical lines across each of the stabilizer patches. Continue making these lines until the entire length of the each stabilizer patch is covered.
- 7). Remove the sewing pins and turn the jeans right side out.
- 8). Trim off any excess fringe or thread lengths.
