If you set up your blog to make money, then it is more important than ever to learn how to drive traffic to it.
There is a lot of information on the Internet about traffic generation already, but this can lead to confusion.
Basically information overload.
Not much point in having a blog out there, if no one ever reads it.
You may have a fantastic theme, or a brilliant offer.
You will still need to learn ways to create traffic generation.
There are so many blogs out there, all competing for readers.
So here are a few ways that can be very effective in traffic generation.
Twitter.
Open an account up at Twitter and start following people in your chosen niche.
Most will follow you back and they are targeted followers.
You already know that they are interested in your blog subject.
So once you have built up a healthy following.
Tweet them a message about your subject or offer.
A word of warning, make sure that you do not bombard your followers with offers.
This is spam, and will be counter productive.
Make your tweets interesting and always add value whenever you can.
Forums.
Again similar rules apply.
Join a forum in your niche and start leaving comments.
Help people when you can and ask question as well.
When people trust you enough they will visit your blog through a link you leave in a resource box.
Never jump right in and promote yourself.
You will lose respect and be seen as a spammer, and probably kicked off the forum for ever.
The more constructive information about your subject that you supply, then the more people will gradually see you as an authority in your niche.
Article marketing.
The third method, which just can not be left out is article marketing.
Writing an article of 250-500 words is not difficult if you know your subject.
Just remember a few simple facts.
The whole idea of an article is to give the reader enough information to keep them reading the whole post.
Your link to your blog will be in the resource box at the bottom of your article.
So you need the reader to actually see this.
The resource box is just as important as the main article.
Give the reader a reason to click on your link.
Normally it would be something like: If you need more information, or click here to see a fantastic offer.
All the above methods work for traffic generation.
Twitter is instant.
Forums can be both instant and build over time.
Especially if your topic is popular.
Articles normally build over time, but if your articles are rich in keywords then this can be a very powerful method.
