Internet Explorer 8 has a new way of browsing the Web which is known as InPrivate browsing. When you turn on Windows 7 InPrivate browsing on IE8 and then visit a bunch of Internet pages, Internet Explorer 8 does not leave a mark of the sites you browse in the programs History log and anywhere on your system. When you browse web sites in this mode, Internet Explorer 8 does not save cookies which is the information about you and your user preferences such as logons that the Web site can use to identify you, does not save temporary Internet files and does not save the Web addresses in the programs history log.
You can use InPrivate browsing whenever you dont want to leave a mark on the system that other users can readily follow to see which site you visited. When youre planning something special such as a Caribbean getaway for someone who also uses your computer then this feature comes in really handy. This feature is also useful when you dont want anyone to be able to look into the Internet browsers history.

When theres any chance that you may later want to know about your steps on the Internet to translocate information that you have already looked up then this feature is not useful for this purpose. Remember that you can always manually clean the cookies, temporary Internet files, and history in Internet Explorer 8 by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Delete from your keyboard and then clicking the Delete button in the Delete Browsing History dialog box.

To browse the Internet using the Windows 7 InPrivate Browsing feature, You need to choose the Windows 7 InPrivate Browsing item from the Safety pull-down menu in IE 8. You can also press Ctrl+Shift+P from your keyboard. Now Internet Explorer 8 will open a new browsing window. IE window shows a page with common information about Windows 7 InPrivate Browsing but more significantly shows an InPrivate button to the nearby left of the address bar. As long as this Windows 7 InPrivate button appears in front of the address bar, you know that the pages which you have visited are not being adding to the programs history log. You also know that the browser is not caching any of the temporary files that are downloaded as part of the a distinctive Internet page display.

You need to keep this thing in mind that there is no other way to turn off InPrivate Browsing other than closing all the Internet Explorer 8 browser windows that has the InPrivate button and then surfing Web pages in the original Internet Explorer 8 window and that does not tolerate this button. By clicking on the InPrivate button itself in a Internet browser window only serves to show a pop-up menu which tells you that Windows 7 InPrivate Browsing is currently turned on something you were probably already well aware of.
