When people hear of improving memory, their thoughts immediately fly to some secret method.
A method that perhaps memory gurus use to remember an insanely long lists of words.
Yes, there's a method involved but the truth is, it plays a small part in memory improvement.
Far more important is the state of your brain.
The methods that these memory gurus make use of is much like the software that's installed into your computer.
Without the proper hardware, these software could not run as it's designed.
If you want to improve your memory, the first thing you should do is first improve your hardware.
In this article, I'm going to show you exactly how to do that.
  1. Nutrition always comes first when you want to correct anything related to your body.
    This includes your brain.
The rule is simple: consume more green vegetables and less sugar.
Sugar includes fructose (all fruits), glucose (milk) and carbohydrates in rice, pasta and bread.
As an alternative, consume more meat! Most people don't know this but meat contains vitamin B12, which is crucial for a health brain.
Unfortunately, B12 cannot be found in any non-animal source and so if you're a vegetarian, be sure to supplement your diet with this.
  2. Do more exercises.
This means jogging and simply walking 30 minutes a day.
Cardio exercises increases blood flow to your brain.
It also stimulates the release of various chemicals beneficial for your mental functions.
In fact, numerous high performing people reported their most creative ideas appear when they are doing their exercises.
    Coincidence?
  3. Challenge your cognitive skills.
This means learning new things (languages is ideal) and performing brain exercises.
When your mind is challenged, it adapts and improves.
But more importantly, you should maintain social contact, without which your brain will degenerate when presented with a challenge.
