How to Change an Oven Glow Bar to a Spark Ignitor
- 1). Unplug the range's power cord from the wall outlet, located behind the range.
- 2). Open the oven door. Flip the hinge locks down on the door hinges.
- 3). Close the door half way. Lift it up and away from the oven. Place the door aside.
- 4). Remove the oven racks from inside of the oven.
- 5). Remove the bottom panel of the oven if replacing the bake burner and electrode. To remove, loosen and then remove the screws securing the bottom panel in place. Skip this step if replacing the broil burner and electrode.
- 6). Remove the screws securing the burner shield into position. Remove the burner shield.
- 7). Remove the mounting screws securing the old spark electrode and burner to the oven. Pull the burner, with the electrode attached, away from the bottom or top of the oven.
- 8). Pull the wire off of the electrode and connect it to the electrode on the new burner and electrode assembly.
- 9). Secure the new burner and electrode assembly into position. Secure it using the screws that were removed.

Replace the burner shield, then secure it using the screws that were removed. - 11
Replace the lower oven panel, if required, and secure it using the screws that were removed. - 12
Replace the oven racks. - 13
Hold the oven door at a 45-degree angle. Insert the hinges into the hinge slots. Open the door fully. Flip the hinge locks up to secure the door in place. Close the oven door. - 14
Restore power to the range by plugging the power cord back into the wall outlet.
