Summer in Brela, Croatia
This summer I decided to spend my holiday in my mother's homeland, Croatia, with my family, after years of spending holidays in France and Italy.
We chose to go to beautiful town of Brela, in central Dalmatia.
The town of Brela offers several excellent restaurants, with domestic specialties.
There are also a few hotels in the town, where you can also rent a room, or go to the spa, or swimming pool.
The beaches are also filled with touristic offer, whether you prefer water skiing, diving, kayaking or surfing.
The surrounding also offer interesting things to see for people who are more outdoors oriented.
There is a mountain called Biokovo just 10 minutes drive from Brela, where you can go hiking and rock climbing, and experience a totally different climate.
You can also go rafting on river Cetina which is about 25 minute drive from Brela.
We booked our reservation online in Brela, about two months earlier.
We arrived in Brela on Sunday, mid August.
It was a very hot, and humid, day but fortunately we found our accommodation very quickly and we were soon settled in.
The accommodation was absolutely perfect, and the owners were very friendly and outgoing people.
We had lots of laughs with them, and we felt like at home.
As soon as we settled in, we went to the beach.
The beaches in Brela are fabulous, with white pebbles and crystal blue sea.
I was really amazed with the beauty of the town and it's surroundings.
During the next couple of days we were enjoying on the beautiful beaches, drinking cocktails in local bars, and dining at local restaurants.
We even went to a boat trip to a nearest island called Brac.
My family and I spent 7 wonderful and unforgettable days in Brela, and I would recommend it to everybody to go there and have a nice, relaxing vacation, enjoying Croatian nature, food, and traditional hospitality.
