    • 1). Connect the nuvi to a computer using a USB cable.

    • 2). Click the desktop "Start" menu. Select the "Computer" folder.

    • 3). Double-click on the Garmin drive. Click to open the "GPX" folder.

    • 4). Right-click on the "Current.gpx" file inside the GPX folder. Click "Copy." Go to your Windows desktop, right-click in an empty space and copy the file.

    • 5). Double-click the "Current.gpx" file's icon to open it. Your trip log and your favorite and points of interest (POI) files are stored in this file.

    • 6). Open a program to view the trip log. You can use Google Earth or G7ToWin (see Resources). Open the program and load the "Current.gpx" file in the software interface. This will open and separate each trip's log and separate the favorites and POI files that are saved in the Current.gpx file. Select each trip's log within the software interface to view the log on a map, as well as other information such as start and stop time.
