For many years now, people have been constantly looking for ways to improve their home heating system.
There may be so many new home heating units available, however some of these are costly, inefficient and can cause pollution.
These days, the newest and most innovative way to heat your home and keep warm during the cold months is by a hydronic heating system.
What is this and how does it work? How can you benefit from it? Read on to learn more about it.
WHAT IS HYDRONIC HEATING? This kind of system is basically one of the most energy-efficient home heating system available.
It heats your home by using a tubing system to run hot liquid or water under the floor through base board heaters or radiators.
It is often called as "radiant heating" and it has gained popularity among families who want to experience the benefits of a good heating system for their home while saving money on heating bills.
Aside from that, it is also considered to be earth-friendly so it does not do any harm to the environment at all.
Hydronic heating systems are also known or called as in-floor heaters because they keep your home or buildings warm by heating the floor or walls.
Compared to others that are available in the market.
Hydronic heating systems are considered more environment-friendly.
HOW DOES HYDRONIC HEATING WORK? As we have mentioned above, it uses a tubing system to heat your floors or walls.
But, how does it effectively distribute heat? There are three ways in which heat is effectively transferred or distributed.
It is by means of conduction, convection and radiation.
The reason why it is so effective in keeping your home warm compared to other more conventional types of air heating systems is because it makes use of conduction and radiation plus liquid as a good heat conductor in distributing heat.
EQUIPMENT USED IN HYDRONIC HEATING The basic elements or equipment present in a standard residential hydronic heating system will normally include the following: • Boiler-this is used to heat the liquid • Liquid Medium-basically, water is the most common type of liquid used.
But over the years there are now other types of liquids allowed.
• Tubing-plastic tubing or PEX is the most common kind of tubing used in it.
• Pump-this is where the heated liquid is circulated.
• Thermostat/manifold-directs the flow of water and room temperature.
• Heat Exchanger-the in-floor element, which could be the baseboard heater or the radiator, that helps distribute the heat to the home.
There are still many other things to know about Hydronic Heating systems.
Aside from that, there are also many different available kinds of these system out there in the market.
It is always good to get a head start and do a bit of research before you decide to have one installed for your home.
