How to Survive USMC Boot Camp
- 1). Begin preparing at least four to six months prior to leaving for boot camp. This allows your body plenty of time to become used to your demands. Consistency and preparation are the keys to surviving boot camp.
- 2). Train at least five or six days a week. Each training session should mimic the tests you will endure at boot camp, including a timed run, pull-ups and sit-ups.
- 3). Progressively increase the distance of your runs until you make it to the full three miles. At that point, continue running three miles but attempt to decrease the amount of time it takes with every run.
- 4). Set progressive goals for pull-ups and sit-ups as well. For example, aim to perform one or two more reps each week until you leave for boot camp.
