How to Get Rid of Ants on My House Foundation
- 1). Keep the area around your house free of debris and rotting wood. Ants tend to nest under rocks and in decomposed wood, and can easily spread to your foundation if their nests are near the house.
- 2). Repair cracks or holes in the foundation to prevent ants from entering your house. Use an epoxy-based caulk to fill hairline cracks, or a cement patch mix for larger holes.
- 3). Set ant bait traps around the house near the foundation as a first-line chemical defense. Baits may be more likely to get rid of the ant population when you see anthills nearby.
- 4). Spray the perimeter of your house foundation with pesticide. Apply the chemical control 2 to 6 feet away from your house in addition to right at the foundation. Treat the foundation itself as well, spraying 2 to 3 feet high.
