103 45
Hey, do you want to lower your blood sugar? I am not talking about lowering it once.
I am talking about keeping it lower consistently.
We all know the two thing that we can do to lower our blood sugar, diet and exercise.
Now, let us take diet out of the equation.
Whew, that's a relief.
That means exercise must ,now be adjusted.
We know this.
But, facts tend to prove it to us again.
The Canadian Public Health Service conducted an experiment with overweight diabetics, who were already involved and committed to a program of walking.
The experiment was officially called, " Pick Up The Pace.
" The experiment lasted twelve weeks.
In it some of the group of walkers stayed with their normal routine.
The other subjects increased their walking speed by 10 percent.
At the end of twelve weeks, the group who increased their walking speed, by justpercent, lost a significantly higher amount of weight.
And they maintained healthier blood sugar levels.
this is not one reading, they maintained lower blood sugar.
I believed this is what we are striving for.
This takes self discipline.
For those of you already walking, you have the self discipline.
So, let us just bump up your walking routine a little bit, 10 percent.
This also applies to any other exercise regimens you are performing.
Now, 10 percent of what you are now doing, is not much.
If you are walking 1,000 steps in 3 minutes, pick up the pace to 1,100 steps in 3 minutes.
If you are bench pressing 10 repetitions, pump out 11 repetitions, or put on a couple of extra pounds for 10 repetitions.
The idea behind this is to work your body a little harder than you did before.
Blood sugar reading will go down and be more consistent, with the increased intensity in exercise.
Many other areas of your health will also improve at the same time.
You will lose weight.
Your heart will work a little harder for your increased effort.
This makes your heart stronger.
This increases your circulation.
Your internal organs will function better because of increased blood flow.
The release of beneficial hormones and enzymes in your body will increase.
This will contribute to increased bone density.
Your liver will get rid of more toxins.
Increased perspirationwill also get rid of toxins in the body.
Basically, your whole body will benefit.
You will see immediate evidence in lower blood sugar readings.
You will slowly, lose a little weight.
You will start to look better.
You will feel better about yourself.
You will feel better.
