The Daily Telegraph"s Top 10 Tips For Making Extra Cash
Yes, you did read that correctly, the UK's leading broadsheet newspaper, that pillar of the Establishment, The Daily Telegraph, has been offering it's middle class readers advice on how to earn some extra cash, during these difficult times.
As a regular reader of the paper, I thought I'd like to share this information with you.
They did a "Top 10 'Ways to make extra cash on the side".
I've listed them below, with my own observations.
1.
Take up Dog Walking - Well, this is great if you like dogs, and can handle more than one at a time, and are O.
K about breaking up dog fights.
Oh, yes and not to squeamish about scooping multiple poops! Maybe not for everyone.
2.
Rent out your Home for Films and Television Productions This one seems to me a very long shot.
You would need an exceptional property, to generate any interest at all.
3.
Rent out your Driveway - This is a viable proposition, if you lived in the city centre, with offices nearby, that had staff desperate for somewhere to park their car.
4.
Rent our your Pets for Films, Ads, Stage and TV Productions As number 2, you would need very special and talented pets, for this one to succeed 5.
Become a Home Tutor - If you have specific skills and knowledge that people would pay to learn, then this a definite possibility.
6.
Become a Proof Reader - This one is good, it's a decent part time business.
However, it takes a lot of time and practice to learn, it's not just about spotting mistakes.
Also, you will have to compete for work in a competitive market.
7.
Become an Artist's Model - Definitely not for everyone! But, if you have a good body, and are not shy about getting your kit off and posing for a group, this could work for you.
8.
Join a Focus Group - Sounds fine in principle, but as I understand it these groups are generally selected randomly, so any earnings would be of a spasmodic nature initially, until you were well established on the various lists.
9.
Become a Mystery Shopper - I cannot really comment on this, apart from stating the obvious, that is you would need to like shopping! 10.
Become an Avon Lady - Well established part time business opportunity that's been around for years.
However, you would need to pay for materials up front, and also ensure you were the sole rep for that area.
Amazingly, the Telegraph made no mention of the Internet, or indeed eBay.
