Dumping the 9-5 and Starting Your Own Entrepreneurial Enterprise

Many people want to start their own businesses and a small business is a dream that many wish to make part of their overall goals in life and their American Dream.
If you are in the same boat then you are not alone.
Of course, there are some words of warning to you, 75% of all small businesses fail within the first 5-years and those are pretty scary odds.
Indeed, nothing good in life is ever easy and we have heard that cliché many times in the past, but in this case it is so very right on the money - your money and your future.
If you think you have what it takes and you have dreams of making millions and dumping your current nine to five reality then it is possible, but you need to understand what you are getting into.
Recently, I read an interesting book on this subject: "Play and Grow Rich - How to Break free from the nine-to-five world and profit from what you enjoy most" by Jan Gault - 1988.
This is a very good book for anyone who is thinking about becoming self employed and rather than listening to my recommendations, please realize that this book has sold three-million copies.
Imagine my surprise to find two of them in my personal business library.
The book starts out with a chapter on Career Pipedreams and then the next, the entrepreneurial challenge.
Do you have what it takes, do you understand cash flow, what is your ethical displacement, can you adjust your attitude and are you willing to take the steps to see it through? Can you stay creative, innovative and maintain the playful spirit as things progress? Maybe you might wish to consider reading it also and considering some of the philosophy that it ponders.
