Easy Foods for a Party
- Cube cooked chicken or beef. Chop red and green peppers, onion and zucchini into inch-sized pieces. Arrange on trays with wooden skewers; let your guests make their own shish kabobs.
- Cube a store-bought angel food cake into 1-inch cubes. Layer in a glass bowl with strawberries, raspberries or any other colorful fruit you like, and whipped cream. Topped with toasted coconut.
- Cube a pound of cooked chicken breast meat. Cook two packages of rotini, bowties or other pasta desired. Steam one package of frozen broccoli florets. Combine pasta, broccoli, chicken and two jars of commercial Alfredo sauce. Serve with garlic bread.
- Brown a pound of ground beef or turkey. Season with commercial taco seasoning. In a large glass bowl, begin by filling with chopped mixed greens. Top with seasoned meat, drained and rinsed black beans, chopped tomatoes, crumbled tortilla chips, shredded cheese and sour cream.
- Begin with two or three kinds of ice cream. Have chocolate, caramel and strawberry syrups, sprinkles, nuts, marshmallows and chopped brownies ready. Let guests make their own concoctions.
- Combine 1 lb. cubed stewing beef, 1 lb. chopped carrots, 2 cups chopped potatoes, 2 cups of water and one packet of commercial gravy mix. Put in a crockpot and let cook for 8 to 12 hours until vegetables are cooked through. Let guests serve themselves. Serve with crusty bread or rolls.
