Get More Money and Live Longer Too

Believe it or not, Financial Planning and Good Health go hand-in-hand! When working with new clients, one of the first things that I focus on is their budget.
Often I find that the client is spending all of his or her money each month and isn't aware of where it's all going.
Further review and tracking often reveals that much of the cash flow is spent on lunches, dining out and frequent trips to the supermarket.
Sometimes fifty percent or more of a client's cash flow goes for prepared foods and alcohol! Another expense that is often found is a monthly membership payment to the local health club.
Yet when asked how often they go, the response is generally 'seldom' to 'never.
' "Trying to find the time to go is next to impossible," they tell me.
Especially considering putting in a full and often long work day as well as attending to social responsibilities.
But as with anything in life, we are faced with choices and tough decisions.
We must set our priorities and find time to do the important things in life.
No Pain, No Gain No pain, no gain is how the saying goes.
There is no doubt that the time and effort put in to doing a good workout is quite a sacrifice.
In an average workout, one might burn maybe 300 calories and in an intense, one-hour workout, perhaps up to 1,000 calories! If you have been paying your dues at the club regularly, you might find yourself starting to think twice about having that second glass of wine, or even the first one if it might interfere with your upcoming workout.
Or, you might begin the think, "gee, that Big Mac sure does look good, but is it worth the extra hour on the treadmill to work it off? As you get into the habit of going to the gym (sometimes the endorphins cause you to really want to go), you begin to see your lifestyle change.
You may now find yourself at the fruit market loading up on fresh fruits and vegetables at a low price instead of paying top dollar at large supermarket chains, indulging in prepared foods.
It's also not difficult to suddenly find yourself spending just $40-50 a week in food instead of the $250 that you had been spending at restaurants and supermarkets.
It seems to be the best of both worlds, not only will you find yourself healthier, possibly adding a few extra years to your life, you'll also find that you will have the money to afford it.
