How to Trim Boys' Hair Near the Ears
- 1). Wash the boy's hair before you start the haircut. Towel-dry the hair so that it remains damp while cutting. Dampen the hair with a spray bottle if it dries during the cutting process.
- 2). Instruct the boy to sit down on a chair and place a towel around his shoulders. Secure it in place with a knot or clip. Give the child something to distract him, if necessary.
- 3). Start at the neckline and work your way up the head. Cut your preferred hairstyle until you come to the ear.
- 4). Gently fold the ear down with your finger on your non-cutting hand.
- 5). Use your shears to start near the ear, closest to the temple. Carefully cut around the ear, stopping just below the hairline that surrounds the ear. Cut as if you were cutting a pattern around his ear.
- 6). Do the same for the other ear.
- 7). Continue cutting the rest of the hair, working up to the top of the head. Examine the cut and make any small trims or that are needed. Make sure the lengths are even and blended.
