How to Grow a Jasmine Vine to a Panel

    • 1). Place your stakes into the ground, approximately 4 to 5 inches deep and about 2 inches from the stem of the Jasmine plant. You need to wait until your young Jasmine plants are at least 5 inches tall.

    • 2). Attach one twist tie to the stem near the top. Close the twist tie around the garden stake. This will help teach your Jasmine plant to grow upward instead of falling over. Make sure that you are not attaching the twist tie too tight; you want to provide enough room for the Jasmine plant to grow.

    • 3). Add more twist ties as your plant grows, and also add taller stakes to support the plant as it starts gaining height to climb.

    • 4). Add eye hooks to your panel and tie some twine from the ends. Place the eye hooks and twine at interval heights above the Jasmine plant. The goal is to create additional support for your Jasmine vines as the plant grows and starts to climb. The twine will provide something substantial for the vine and tendrils to grab onto.

    • 5). Replace the tallest stake that you have used with the initial stake. You need to provide ground level support at the stage when your Jasmine was first staked. Your stake should be about 5 inches tall and your plant should only be attached by one twist tie. At this point in the growth of your Jasmine vine, the plant will have climbed to the top of the panel.
