How to Make Snowflakes Out of One Piece of Paper
- 1). Take one corner of a sheet of paper and fold it over to touch the the middle of the opposing side. Gently press the folded edge down. Draw a line along the top edge where the folded portion meets the open portion. Use scissors to cut off this excess piece of paper. You will be left with a folded triangle. Fold this triangle in half, and then in half again.
- 2). Locate the wide, open end of the triangle and draw a curved design along this edge. Locate the long edges of the triangle and draw open shapes along the edge that will be cut out of the triangle. Draw some open shapes inside the triangle which will be cut out.
- 3). Use a pair of scissors to cut out the shapes you drew on the folded triangle. Small children might need assistance cutting out the shapes from the triangle. Once all the shapes have been cut out, unfold the triangle to reveal the paper snowflake. Children can also color their snowflakes with crayons or markers to create more colorful winter decorations. You can tie string to the snowflake to hang it on a Christmas tree or attach it to a window with a piece of tape.
