How to Set Up a Wireless Laptop Internet From a 2-Line Gateway
- 1). Plug an Ethernet cable into one of the ports on the rear of the two-line gateway.
- 2). Connect the other end to an available port on the rear of your wireless router.
- 3). Plug an Ethernet cable into your laptop and plug the other end into the other port on your gateway.
- 4). Open "Start," "Programs" and open your Internet browser. Enter the address for your router (found in the instruction manual--typically something like 192.168.0.1) and press "Enter."
- 5). Select a name for your wireless network, select a security type (choose "WPA" when available) and input a desired passcode for the network.
- 6). Unplug the laptop from the gateway and click on the wireless icon in the System Tray. Select "Connect to a network," select your newly created network from the list and enter your passcode to complete the setup.
