How to Grill Salmon With Skin
- 1). Adjust the grates on the grill, so they are 3 to 4 inches from the heat. Heat the grill to medium-high heat. You want to cook the salmon quickly, so it doesn't dry out; yet, you don't want to burn it.
- 2). Brush vegetable oil on the grill grates and on the salmon fillets. The vegetable oil will stop the fish from sticking to the grill.
- 3). Place the salmon on the grill, skin side down. Turn every 2 to 3 minutes, so the skin does not stick to the grill but becomes crispy.
- 4). Check the fish to see whether it is done. Place a fork into the fish and pull away. If it is flaky and has changed color, take it off the grill. It will continue to cook for a few minutes after removal from the grill.
- 5). Serve the salmon while it is hot. You may want to squeeze lemon juice on the salmon or sprinkle a small amount of dill on just before taking the salmon off the grill.
