In business, they say there is opportunity in chaos and the drought situation in America is indeed, causing chaos and havoc throughout the nation.
With water supplies dwindling and demand way up, we find that the public is pitted against commercial water users.
As cities and counties move into Level II Drought Mitigation, homeowners are prohibited from watering lawns and washing their cars.
This makes citizens angry when they see the carwashes going full guns, and the car wash owners are happy to see the increased business.
Some car washes, detail shops are also called on to cut down water usage.
Sometimes business owners use these drought rules to shut down their competition.
For instance, a mobile car wash may use much less water than a carwash per car, but since the carwash can claim it recycles water, some of it, they have an edge with the municipal ordinances.
Once the water police see water being used and inspect due to complaints from one business to another, they drought enforcement professionals are likely to do something to stop it.
Two reasons, one for public perception and another because of their stated mission statement - it's their job.
Droughts cause chaos and business owners often take advantage of crisis to kill their competition and make excessive profits.
The public should be careful in creating a mob mentality that increases prices in the market place by allowing the government to decrease competition.
Other wise, you have both higher prices and less water.
