How to Get Gas Fumes Out of the Washing Machine
- 1). Wipe down the inside of the washing machine with a small amount of baby oil on a paper towel. The baby oil helps to remove gasoline and does not act as a solvent.
- 2). Smell the interior of the washing machine. If any gasoline smell remains, add 1 to 2 cups of white vinegar to the washing machine and set the machine run through an empty wash cycle on the hottest water setting available.
- 3). Lift the lid or open the door once the wash cycle is complete and allow the washing machine to air dry. If any gasoline smell remains, repeat the vinegar wash.
