Leprechaun Footprints Project

106 32

Create several of these footprints and make a leprechaun trail through your house. Encourage your kids to follow the trail and search for the leprechaun. Make sure you make the hunt worth their while. At the end of the footprint trail, leave a small prize or treat. How about some candy coins or even a small pot of gold.

Materials Needed:

  • Prize or Treat

Instructions:
Tara explains that there is no exact science to making the footprints. Just imagine what a leprechaun footprint may look like and begin cutting. Tara cut footprints with an tip at the end so they looked like what she imagined an elf's shoe might look like. When I made mine in the picture here, I simply traced a shoe and cut them out! You will want the footprints to be on the smaller side though, since leprechauns are small.

How many footprints you will cut out will depend on how long you would like the footprint trail to be. You should have fun with it and make them lead kids from room to room and even outside as they follow the trail. It is so easy, kids love it. Remember leprechaun are small so make the prints accordingly. Tara suggests getting creative and using a little bit of cellophane tape to make footprints on a wall, door, window, and anywhere else a mischievous leprechaun may wander. You can also use a little bit of tape to secure the footprints to the floor.
