  Houseboats can be a fun and original way to spend a vacation with family or friends. Houseboats have many amenities that allow travelers to spend up to a week on the water. Nevada has two lakes where you can experience a houseboat vacation. Lake Mead, near Las Vegas, is the largest man-made lake/reservoir in Nevada. Lake Mohave is southwest of Lake Mead near the town of Laughlin, Nevada.
  
  

Houseboating

• Houseboating.org is an online company that specializes in houseboat rentals on both Lake Mead and Lake Mohave. Houseboats range from the 50-foot Forever 8 that includes four queen-size beds to the 75-foot Silver Xtreme with six bedrooms. Rentals are available for 3 to 7 days. Departures take place year round and prices fluctuate, based on the size of the craft and the number of days.

Forever Resorts

• Forever Resorts is the authorized houseboat rental service of the National Park Service. Two locations in Nevada are used to launch rented houseboats: Callville Bay Resort on Lake Mead and Cottonwood Cove on Lake Mohave. Six houseboat models are available, ranging from the 50-foot Forever 8 with a canopy to the 75-foot Silver Xtreme. Houseboats with two to six bedrooms are available and can accommodate up to 15 people. Options on larger houseboats include television, wet bars and hot tubs.

• Seven Crown Resorts has houseboats for rent on Lake Mohave. Four models are available, including the 43-foot Crownship, 47-foot Summit and 56-foot Grand Sierra and Grand Sierra EX. Depending on the model, six to 13 people can sleep comfortably. The Grand Sierra EX includes a water slide, a fly bridge, a shaded roof with lighting and a VCR/DVD player.
