How to Troubleshoot a JVC HX-GD8
- 1). Prepare the remote control properly if the JVC HX-GD8 is unresponsive. Open the back of the remote control and insert three AA batteries. Make sure that the polarity is correct, match negative icons to negative icons and positive to positive. Use fresh batteries and don't mix an old battery with a new one.
- 2). Hook the components up if you can't hear anything. The loop antenna must be plugged into the jack marked "AM Loop" before you will be able to hear AM radio. The speakers need to be connected before you will be able to hear anything. Hook each of the two SP-HXGD8s to the speaker connections on the back of the CA-HXGD8. Connect any external equipment like an MP3 player to the "AUX" jack on the front panel. It's a stereo mini 3.5mm plug---similar to a headphone set.
- 3). Select the right sound mode for the type of music that you want to listen to if the sound isn't right. Press "Sound Mode" on the JVC HX-GD8's remote control and toggle through the options until the audio sounds good. Options include Dance, Hall, Stadium, Rock, Pop and Classic. You can also turn this feature off for a flat CD-authentic mastered sound.
