Visualisation and meditation stem from an ancient tradition that advocates the inward journey to increase awareness and bring about deep healing.
Meditation is used to help develop an awareness of the energy and stillness that is at the core of your being.
The light meditation is particularly suited to being practiced in the early morning before rising and in the late evening before retiring.
Light Meditation Begin by closing your eyes.
Now imagine there is a beautiful golden light just under your feet.
You can feel this shimmering light begin to flow up over your toes, relaxing and soothing your feet.
It is now flowing over your ankles, moving up along your calves, easing out any strain or tiredness from your calf muscles.
The beautiful light is now spreading over your knees and is now moving higher along your thighs, gently massaging and healing as it flows.
It is now flowing under your chair and beginning to move upwards over your lower back.
Feel your back beginning to be filled with this soothing and healing energy.
The light is now flowing up through your spine, and spreading out all over your back to gently massage away tension from every muscle.
The light is moving up over your shoulders, relaxing and energising, releasing all tension from your shoulders.
Now the light is flowing down your arms.
You can feel it's gentle energy radiating over your elbows.
It is now flowing down over your wrists and hands, spreading out to relax each of your fingers.
The light now moves over your lower abdomen and begins to flow upwards over your stomach.
Glowing and shimmering the light flows up over your chest.
Now it is moving higher over your collarbone, and up along your neck, again easing out any tension that might have accumulated with the stresses and strains of life.
Now the light flows up over your face, moving over your mouth and nose, flowing over your jawbones, releasing all tension, soothing and healing.
Feel these beautiful light rays penetrating to the very core of your being, bringing deep love and peace.
The light is now flowing up over eyes, healing and gently massaging your eye-sockets.
Now feel the light spreading up over your forehead, spreading it's beautiful brilliant rays over your skull, bringing you a warm loving feeling as the light flows over your head.
Now your entire body is full of light.
You feel deeply relaxed, safe and at peace.
Focus on this light that is coursing through your veins.
Feel the light bringing deep healing and balm to every muscle, every bone, and every fibre of your being.
Become fully aware that you are an eternal being of light.
Focus on the feeling of oneness, of love and peace that emanates from the core of your being.
Continue to feel this essence deep within.
Your essence is connected to the source of all life.
Spend a few minutes allowing the light to penetrate further into every crevice of your being, bringing deep healing and joy to every cell of your being.
Now in your own time become aware of your body sitting on the chair.
Become aware of your hands resting on the chair or in your lap, and your feet resting on the floor.
Slowly open your eyes and come back into the room, feeling refreshed, and full of light.
