How to Design a Racing T Shirt
- 1). Talk to the organizers of the race if you are not already on the organizing team. In order to design the race's T-shirt, you will need to understand the theme of the race and the race's history.
- 2). Look at race T-shirts from past years. Usually, race T-shirts don't differ too much from year to year. Details of a design may change, but the design always has to adhere to the race's name and theme. If the race falls around a holiday, for example, elements of that holiday's decor will usually show up on the T-shirt.
- 3). Decide on the design that you want, always incorporating seasonal elements. If the race is a Christmas race, for example, then you might depict reindeer running alongside the cars or Santa chasing the cars. If your race is on or around Halloween, you might want the design to glow in the dark. Remember that a race T-shirt must always include the race's name and date, as well as a list of sponsors. The list of sponsors is usually on the back of the shirt.
- 4). Sketch your design. You can use whatever medium you look to create this sketch; you can do it longhand on paper, or you could do it using Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Paint or Powerpoint.
- 5). Approach the race's organizers with your design for approval.
- 6). Send your design to the printing company and specify the number of T-shirts, in each size, that need to be printed. Those numbers will come from the list of registered racers, as well as the list of spectators who have purchased tickets to the race.
