Impressions From The Landmark Hotel In London
We'd booked a Deluxe room but ended up upgraded at sign in to an Executive room looking over the Winter Garden atrium.
Check in has been what we expect from a 5 star hotel.
Skilled, controlled and also well-mannered with the member of staff working with you only without other distractions.
The room requests have been attained without being prompted, even for that upgraded room and we were shown to the lifts from the receptionist.
It had been an excellent start.
The room was charming - big, tastefully equipped (really Four Seasons layout) with a few good details such as an umbrella in the vestibule area and also digital weighing scales!.
Like the room, the restroom was big with distinct dressing/sinks spots, bath and significant walk-in shower and independent toilet.
Water pressure was perfect.
The only real disadvantages have been the very ancient CRT tv and the absent room safe that left a hole over the minibar.
The room was really calm and the windows presented fine sound proofing although there is little action inside the atrium eventually in the evening.
There was breakfast in the atrium's Winter Garden included in our room charge.
The meal was fantastic.
Most likely the very best Complete English breakfast I've had but it really does come at a price.
Still it's all offered on Royal Doulton and you're simply in the unconventional setting of sitting down under a glass ceiling in the middle of palms in central London.
Service was useful although we'd a bit of a wait for the grilled part to arrive.
An excellent touch had been the provision of full-size cafetieres and teapots for each individual.
It's really worth going for a quick walk round the hotel to understand the building historical past as one of the initial railway terminus hotels complete with stained glass windows and chandeliers.
The employees at reception certainly are a credit to the hotel and I would likely happily stop at The Landmark once more.
