If you want to wear a bee costume for Halloween, create one yourself with some basic products, like tape or material. The type of materials you use to create your bee costume can effect the look of the final product, so keep that in mind as you select your materials. You can wear an individual bee costume for Halloween, or turn the look into a couples' costume by having your significant other or a friend dress up as a beekeeper. - If you have the time, create a bee costume out of a beanbag. Pick up a yellow beanbag chair and some black fabric paint. Pour all the beanbag filling out. Cut out a hole in the top of the beanbag for your head, two holes for your arms and a hole in the bottom for your legs. Then, take the black fabric paint, and create thick black, horizontal stripes across the body of the beanbag. Let the paint dry. Put on some black clothes, and slip the beanbag on to create the body of a bee costume. You can use pom-poms and pipe cleaners to make antennae.
- For a last-minute bee costume, make a bee costume out of felt. Take strips of yellow and black fabric, and stitch them together, alternating colors, to create a bee style jumper. Once you've sewn enough pieces together to cover from about shoulder to mid-thigh on both sides, sew the sides together, and cut out a hole for your head. Dress in black, and slip the jumper over your head. You can create wings for your costume by shaping a heavy gauge wire into the form you want. Then use glue to cover the wings with white felt.
- If you're short on cash or trying to make a costume quickly, make a bee costume using black clothes and yellow tape. Search your closet for a pair of black pants and a black thermal shirt or sweatshirt. Then create yellow stripes on the shirt by attaching strips of yellow tape horizontally across both the front and the back of the shirt. Repeat the process until the whole shirt is striped. For wings, gather a wide, yellow or white ribbon together until you've created a wing shape. Then, use a piece of metal wire to hold the wings together and in place.
