The list of villages worth visiting in Spain is long but this year you should choose to book your HOLIDAY VILLAS IN VALENCIA for a feast to the mind and eyes as well. This country is diversity within diversity with beaches, mountains and parks all there for you to enjoy. When you add the cathedrals, castles, museums and the numerous villages full of history for you to study and understand you will begin to appreciate this unique place. When it comes to the province of Valencia, you are faced with a quandary for there is simply too much to take in on one visit.

The economy of this area based on farming so much so that Valencia is the richest farming area in the Mediterranean basin; this is enhanced by the individual farms producing anything from two to four cash crops a year. To make this possible one fourth of the land is irrigated allowing the main crops of oranges and rice to grow. In the late part of the 19th century rail transportation came to Valencia which in turn opened the export market for oranges on a large scale. The rice grown here is widespread with unusually high yields causing an overproduction at times. The area of land classified as arable grows grapes and olives considered to be traditional Mediterranean crops. Now as you travel through the countryside you will appreciate this effort even more.

The industrial sector of Valencia is like the farms in that they are under the control of individuals whose factories include a rather wide range of products. These consumer goods include shoes, toys, candy and furniture. The factories are not concentrated in one place but spread all over the province.

The service sector has grown as such a high rate that it now commands the largest share of the gross domestic product. All this has lead to the growth of the tourist industry but it is not spread evenly through the provinces as it tends to favour Alicante over all the other provinces on this section of the coast. To combat this, a number of cooperatives have been formed in the region including agricultural and manufacturing industries.

If you take a little time to understand the culture of Valencia your holiday will be just that much more enjoyable. For example, they speak Catalan not the Spanish which is spoken through Spain. When it comes to a traditional middle class farmstead it is easily recognizable. It is built of stone with a hallway through the middle of the house allowing the passage of carts to its enclosed courtyard located behind the living quarters. The area above is used to store the harvest. The lower class builds their homes of reeds and adobe with thatched roofs.

When booking your HOLIDAY VILLAS IN VALENCIA try and do it during the fiesta season. This is an excellent way to know and appreciate the lifestyle of this vibrant race of people. A lot of the fiestas are religious recalling the Muslim occupation such as the Moors and Christians fiesta. The most important is the Fallas or Bonfire fiesta which is celebrated with the burning of effigies in the form of political figures or local dignitaries.
