How to Compress an AVI to DVD
- 1). Download and install the AVI compression tool from the Freemake website. Double-click the desktop icon to run the software.
- 2). Click "+Video" in the upper left corner of the control panel. Locate your AVI video in the file browser, and double-click the file to add it to the converter. Click the file name in the main conversion window to select the file.
- 3). Click the "To DVD" tab at the bottom of the control panel. Click the "Preset" menu, and choose "Motion menu," "Thumbnail menu" or "Text menu" from the drop-down list. Click "DVD size" menu, and choose "Double-layer DVD" if your AVI file is much larger than 4.7 GB.
- 4). Insert a blank DVD, and click "Burn."
- 1). Download and install the DVD creation tool from AVS. Click the "Start" menu and "AVS4YOU" to launch the software.
- 2). Click "Input File" to search your computer for AVI video. Double-click the file you want to convert, and click "To DVD" in the toolbar at the top of the window.
- 3). Click "Profile," and choose "Long Play" if your AVI video lasts longer than four hours. Choose "High Quality" if your video only runs for 60 minutes, or choose "Good Quality" if it runs for 90 minutes. Click "Convert Now."
- 4). Insert a blank DVD when the AVI conversion finishes. Click "Burn Disc."
- 1). Download and install Free Video Converter from Koyote. Double-click the desktop icon to launch the converter.
- 2). Click "Add Files" in the upper left corner of the window. Find your AVI file in the hard drive browser, and double-click the file to load it in the converter. Click "Output Format" at the bottom of the window.
- 3). Click "DVD NTSC Format" in the selection window. Click "Convert Video" to compress the AVI for disc-burning.
- 4). Insert a blank DVD. Run your DVD-burning software, and click "Video DVD." Click "Add," and locate your converted DVD video file on your computer desktop. Alternately, drag the file from your desktop to the disc-burning window. Click "Burn."
