Can Dry Itchy Eyes Affect My Vision?

103 9
In many dry eye syndrome cases, itchy eyes are more of an annoying distraction than anything else.
However, if this condition is left untreated, serious complications can arise.
For example, if you are suffering from dry eye syndrome and your eyes are watering too much, there is probably a malfunction in your tear duct.
This happens when your brain thinks that there is something in your eye, even though there isn't, and tells your eye to water until that "something" is gone.
A direct symptom of this condition is dry itchy eyes.
Your vision can become blurry because of the irritation and the fact that your eyes water constantly.
When you are experiencing this type of eye condition, all you want to do is scratch them and relieve the itching as soon as possible.
But the constant rubbing will only increase the irritation and make the condition much worse.
There are many causes of dry eye syndrome.
Sometimes it can be difficult to figure out what is causing the eye condition in the first place.
For example, your eye problems could simply be the result of working in front of a computer screen all day long.
Or, you may have had too much exposure to artificial light.
Whatever the cause, consider using artificial tears instead of regular over-the-counter eye drops to help relieve the inflammation and persistent itch.
Unlike over-the-counter drops, artificial tears were specifically designed to treat all dry eye symptoms.
This solution was designed to soothe the irritation in your eyes, get rid of the redness, and also relieve the inflammation.
Some artificial tear products come in bottles made with single dosages in mind.
Others can arrive in bottles that require numerous applications throughout a given time period.
It just depends on the type of artificial tear product you select.
Artificial tears are a focal point in treating a wide variety of eye issues.
