Can I Use My Skydrive With My BlackBerry?
- Microsoft affords you access to your SkyDrive from any mobile phone with a Web browser and Internet service, including BlackBerry devices. To get to your SkyDrive, point your BlackBerry's browser skydrive.com and sign in to your Windows Live account. Your sign in information is the same email and password you use to get into your Hotmail account or SkyDrive on a computer. A list of your SkyDrive files will show up when you are signed in.
- The files in your SkyDrive are divided into folders. To open a folder, all you need to do is scroll to its name using your BlackBerry navigational buttons and then select it. The Recent Documents link at the bottom of your screen will show you the documents you used most recently. Similarly, the Docs Shared With You link will narrow the files shown to documents others have sent to you. If you select "Download," the full document opens without borders. While you can look at existing documents, you won't be able to edit a document or upload a new one.
- Viewing a photograph previously uploaded to the SkyDrive operates much the same as opening a document. Use your BlackBerry's navigational tools to highlight the folder containing your photos and select it. A thumbnail of all photos in that folder will appear; to see a larger version of your photo, select the thumbnail and wait for the image to load on your screen. You can only view photographs, not upload new ones.
- Folder comments appear in the right column of an open folder in SkyDrive on your computer, or under the folder's contents on a mobile phone. You are allowed to compose new folder comments on your BlackBerry after a folder has been opened. Scroll down to the very bottom of the folder screen and navigate to the "Add a Comment" field. When you're comment is complete, choose the "Add" icon and your comment posts to the SkyDrive immediately.
