How to Remove Rust From a Steam Iron
- 1). Mix equal parts vinegar and water together. Pour the mixture into your steam cleaner.
- 2). Put the iron on the steam setting.
- 3). Place an old towel on your ironing board. Steam the towel. You'll see the brown buildup start to come out of the holes of the iron. Once the mixture is gone, wipe down the towel.
- 4). Pour plain water into the iron. Put the iron on the steam setting.
- 5). Steam over the towel again to get the vinegar and water mixture residue out of the iron.
