And Director James Cameron"s Next Project Is...
Although I'd love to report James Cameron is prepping "Aquaman," he's not. Instead Cameron's finally ready to move forward on "Battle Angel," a sci-fi thriller he'll be doing with 20th Century Fox.
Supposedly Cameron wants to cast an unknown in the lead role. The story is based on Yukito Kishiro's graphic novels and follows Alita, a 14-year-old female cyborg rescued from the scrap heap by a doctor who becomes her surrogate father.
Cameron claims he'll be shooting "Battle Angel" utilizing a revolutionary process partly based on the same performance-capture technology that was used in "The Polar Express." Cameron developed the process which will allow him to envision the whole movie in a digital set-up prior to shooting any actual actors.
Cameron and 20th Century Fox plan on releasing "Battle Angel" in the summer of 2007.
