Cinema Tycoon 2 Tips & Tricks

    Movie Hints

    • Always spend money on good movies. This is especially important in the beginning of a level in order to build cash and maintain a strong presence should problems arise later (like bad turnouts). Only purchase movies in the "hot" category at this point. To save on money, show the "hot" movie on two screens to increase revenue without having to spend on a separate film for viewing. Remember, having empty seats is not the way to bring in money, so consolidate resources early to expand later.

    Movie Theater Upgrades

    • Focus on the concession stand. Keep the snack counter fully stocked with candy due to the profit margin it receives. After that, upgrade parking to allow more guests to make it to the theater and thereby increase profits from ticket sales. The more people in the theater, the better all aspects of the business will function. Ticket prices are also an important part of "Cinema Tycoon" and will affect business results. Set a lower ticket price for children and seniors, with a higher price (a little less than $10) for adults in the beginning, when the theater is smaller and has fewer movie screens.

    Restarting a Level

    • Going bankrupt is the only way to restart a level in "Cinema Tycoon 2." Borrowing money from loan sharks is the easiest way to go bankrupt quickly. Begin the day with no movie playing and less than $5,000 in the bank. Remember, if the player has more than $5,000, do not start the day until the amount is less. Once this is certain, begin the day and play as normal until the end of the day when a message will appear saying, "we steal your credit." The loan sharks will take $5,000 from the player's account, which will put him in the red and on the fast track to bankruptcy and a restarted level.
