How to Find & Reset the Admin Password
- 1). Click "Start," then click "Run." Type in "CMD" into the "Run" program to load command prompt. Note: Type in all the commands from this step and as follows without " or quotes.
- 2). Type in "net user" and hit "Enter" after the command prompt opens. All of the computer's user names pop up, including their rights, such as administrator. Underneath, the computer waits for you to enter a new prompt with a blinking cursor. Type in "net user Admin" then hit "Enter."
- 3). Scan the Admin's details as you load them on screen. Now, the command prompt waits for a new command. Type in "net user Admin *" and then hit "Enter." The command prompt then says, "Type a password for the user" to which you type in a new password for the Admin and hit "Enter." The cursor does not move or create stars, but command prompt is saving your new password.
- 4). Re-enter the new password as command prompt requests, "Retype the password to confirm" and hit "Enter." Again, nothing appears but it still saves your new password. You receive a message, "The command completed successfully."
