How to Make a Mesh Scrubbie
- 1). Cut a piece of tulle 3 yards long. Roll the tulle up and clip it along the length with binder clips so it does not slip during cutting. Cut across the roll of tulle every 2 inches with the utility knife. This will result in three 2-inch wide strips of tulle, each 3 yards long.
- 2). Hold the strip of tulle and the cotton yarn together as one strand. You can wrap the tulle around the yarn or lightly twist them together for easy handling, or simply hold them side by side.
- 3). Crochet a chain of 16 stitches. Turn the work.
- 4). Skip the first chain stitch and single crochet in all remaining stitches of the row. Make one turning chain and repeat this row until the piece reaches the desired length. A square of approximately 5 inches is a convenient size for most purposes.
- 5). Chain five stitches at the end of the last row. Slip stitch into the corner of the piece. This forms a hanging loop so the scrubber can be hung up to dry.
- 6). Fasten off the yarn, leaving a 4-inch tail of yarn and tulle. Weave in the tails using the crochet hook.
