Amritsar: Big victory of BJP MLA for big task

AMRITSAR: Fire brand BJP MLA Anil Joshi who won assembly election second time in a row, going to take oath as cabinet minister in a swearing in ceremony tomorrow at Chappar Chieri along with three other BJP MlAs besides SAD MLA.

In an interview Joshi said that he always struggled hard for the welfare and development of Amritsar North Assembly constituency. He said that it was his big victory for big task and he would do by the dint of his hard work. He said the main reason behind the victory in second time people liked his work did in the last five years as reason people voted him to power with a thumping margin which was increased from the last assembly elections of 2007.

When asked about his induction in the State Cabinet to be sworn in tomorrow at Chaapar Chiri he said that due to his dedication towards developing slums of his constituency, the BJP party high command expressed faith on him to serve people on Punjab Level.

Joshi said that yet he was not cleared about the portfolio he would be given to serve the State but it was sure that he wouldn't leave any corner of his assignment unattended.

Joshi who was elected MLA first time in the year of 2007 when Cricketer turned politician BJP MP from Amritsar Navjot Sigh has found him from the sleeping town bordering area of Tarn Taran district. It was Sidhu who took strong stand for Joshi for allocating Assembly ticket in 2007 from Amritsar North assembly Constituency. For Joshi BJP senior leader and former Health Minister Dr. Baldev Raj was dropped and green horn Joshi was given ticket in 2007 whereupon former BJP law minister ARun Jailtey also strongly recommended the name of Joshi.

As per strong BJP sources, this time Joshi name for cabinet berth in Punjab was also strongly recommended by Arun Jaitely who took firm stance for him since many senior and stalwart BJP leaders cum MLA were dropped in the list of Cabinet berth. Notably, senior BJP leader and former minister Manoranjan Kalia's name was also dropped for Cabinet berth. Even Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu wife of MP Navjot Singh Sidhu has won the elections from Amritsar East Assembly constituency was also ignored for State Cabinet Birth.

Sources said that SAD second time winner MLA from Majitha Constituency Bikram Majithia was also in favor of Joshi to get cabinet berth in BJP minister's quota.

When Joshi was asked about the defeat of many senior BJP leaders and MLAs who lost elections as rejected in their home constituency, Joshi replied that he would take care of all these things after swearing in as a minister. He said that he would give more attention along with the rest of Punjab to serve his own constituency.

He said that around one dozen slum colonies wsere in his constituency as lot of developmental works yet to be done besides the work as per the satisfaction of masses. Joshi said that he would never commit such mistakes which would lead him to defeat after five years since he always intend to again contest election to serve his voters who expressed faith on him in second time. If he kept the voters happy by bringing unprecedented developmental would become able to ask the masses for vote after five years, otherwise would be thrown out, he quipped.

Talking about the old system of slow development he said that he would bring developmental works on war footing level nevertheless to say the old mind set of bureaucracy would attempt to interrupt. But his fight would remain continue to change the thoughts of Babus for the larger interest of developmental works as he would make them accountable towards people, Joshi quipped.

Talking about the agenda, Joshi said that he has no personal agenda except the development and to address the grievances of people.
