Obamacare Off the Radar as the NHS Implodes

105 30
For the most part, things have quieted down a tad about Obamacare in the past few months as far as emanations from D.C. "progressives" are concerned-and with good reason. Those progressives, formerly known as liberals, leftists, and Democrats, prefer it that way.

Quiesence serves to enable them to perpetrate their sedition on the sly.

Senate Majority Leader Harry The Undertaker Reid is an exception to that quiesence but he's gasping for breath in Nevada, fearful that he may follow the lead of former Democrat Majority Leader Tom Daschle and be dispatched back home. In Harry's case that would be to beautiful, downtown Searchlight, NV to live out his days in obscurity and ignominy.

That is, unless he pulls a Daschle and instead milks his government contacts as a lobbyist.

Harry is desparate for November votes, especially from the disenchanted, the disenfranchisd, even the disembodied if he can figure a way to get dead people to the ballot box ala Chicago. So he has been stroking the disenchanted, the disenfranchised, the disembodied who amazingly feel that Obamacare does not go far enough, even if it was applauded and proclaimed "a miracle" by Fidel Castro.

Officially titled with the typical governmental mouthful, "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act," Obamacare will ultimately, soon, incorporate a "public option." Harry is promising, averring, pledging, (Mormons don't swear), that, even if President Obama swore that was not part of the plan.

Rep. Barney Frank has been less evasive all along and considered the initial Obamacare Act just a foot in the door, a progressive camel's nose in the tent, which would enable the neo-socialists in Congress to enact the public option which would effectively mean the end of private insurance coverage for everyone in the United States.

Exceptions, of course, would be afforded to Senator Reid, Rep. Frank, and virtually everyone else in the federal government where they make our laws but aren't required to live by them.

As Harry proclaimed, "We're going to have a public option. It's just a question of when:" [http://tiny.cc/dsadk]

The greatest irony in that proclamation is that Harry's campaign pitch comes on the heels of Britain's National Health Service's announcement that it plans to decentralize its health care system and austerely ration its services to save some quid. In effect the government is admitting that the NHS is and has been a failure and is going broke: [http://tiny.cc/akqe1]

At the same time, our government is planning a massive centralization of health care.

Another sign of future times for Americans is that other big Obamacare bugaboo, rationing. "NHS bosses have drawn up secret plans for sweeping cuts to services, with restrictions on the most basic treatments for the sick and injured."

Hip and knee replacements will be put off, nursing homes closed, "acute hospital beds" will be reduced, pediatric and maternity care cut back, and terminal cancer patients will essentially be advised to fend for themselves: [http://tiny.cc/ukhzd]

The UK's NHS happens to be the principal model for Obamacare, its prime exemplar for how a national health care system, socialized medicine, should operate and serve the public need. On the negative side, the NHS is a failed and bankrupt model that our government, our president, and Senator Reid want to emulate.

Obamacare may be off the radar for now but based on Harry's blind support for a failed system, the NHS system that Obama's stealth pick to run Obamacare, Dr. Donald Berwick, who all but worships, Obama's scheme for America's health care may end up truly available and affordable-as soon as they whittle down the number of patients.

The negative feature of that availability and affordability will be that rationing of health care will result in millions of Americans consigned to the "too expensive to treat" category. They will be sent on to euphemistically-called counseling sessions, (death panels), which the NHS uses to deny care to those deemed terminal or just too costly to care for.

Electing Barack Hussein Obama to the office of the presidency of the United States was not the worst mistake Americans have ever made. Allowing him to destroy the nation and to gut our health care system was a far worse mistake.

On the plus side, if and when you or your loved ones are shunted off to your assigned death panels there is always solace in the knowledge that you or they are doing your civic duty, to die and cease draining scarce Obamacare resources.

It beats being sliced, diced, and converted into a nutritious Soylent Green hamburger, no?
