How to Draw on Triangular Dot Paper
- 1). Locate a spot on the paper where you want to create the leading edge of a cube. Draw diagonal lines from that dot. Start with a cube that is one dot wide on all sides.
- 2). Put your pencil on a dot in the center of the paper and draw a line from that dot to the one that is above and to the right of it. Draw another line connecting the second dot to a third dot directly above the first one. Draw a third line from the top dot down to the dot below and to the left of it. Connect the square by drawing a fourth line from the fourth dot to the first dot. Verify that you have just drawn a simple square, appearing like a diamond, with one of its corner edges pointing towards you.
- 3). Draw three straight lines down from the first, second and fourth dots to the dots directly beneath them. Complete the cube by connecting the bottom edges with solid lines. Practice drawing larger cubes by repeating these steps, but allowing three or more dots to comprise each line.
- 4). Draw other objects like double cubes, towers, T-shapes and L-shapes by drawing one cube at at time and setting them next to each other. Use triangular dot paper to create three-dimensional cube structures that express your architectural ideas for buildings and structures.
