101 11
Sarah Michelle Gellar is probably best known for her portrayal of Buffy in the 1992 movie of Buffy the Vampire Slayer but she has many other acting, producing and singing credits to her name.  Sarah Michelle Gellar is her professional name as she took her husband's name of Prinze when they married.

Born in 1977 in New York City, Gellar was the only child of Rosellen and Arthur Gellar, and when her parents divorced when she was seven years old, was brought up by her mother.  She attended the Fiorello LaGuardia High School of the Performing arts from where she graduated in 1995.

Geller's career started early, when having been spotted by an agent in a restaurant at the age of four, she successfully auditioned for An Invasion of Privacy, a TV film.  Advertising and magazine modelling work followed as well as minor roles in two TV series and the movies Funny Farm and High Stakes, both shot in the late 1980s.  She also appeared as Jacqueline Bouvier in the movie A Woman Named Jackie but her big break was in 1992 when she was cast in the television series Swans Crossing and later in the soap All My Children for which she won a Daytime Emmy Award.

In 1997, after a reputed eleven screen tests, Sarah Michelle Gellar was cast as Buffy Summers in the television series of Buffy the Vampire Slayer which screened a huge 144 episodes and developed a cult following across North America, Australia and the UK.  Gellar sang several songs during one of the episodes and featured on the subsequent cast album and continued to appear in the show while branching out into movies.

Gellar's voice has appeared in several television series and she has hosted Saturday Night Live.  She has played roles in the movies I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream 2 and Simply Irresistible but it was playing the lead in Cruel Intentions which truly showed her acting adaptability with her performance as a manipulative cocaine addict attracting critical acclaim.

Sarah Michelle Gellar next appeared in Harvard Man when Buffy the Vampire Slayer finished, in The Grudge and its sequel.  Two more voice-overs for animated films followed and a spate of movies including The Air I Breathe, Suburban Girl, Possession and Veronika Decides to Die.

In September 2009, Gellar and Prinze had a daughter, Charlotte Grace and it wasn't until 2011 that Gellar returned to star in and produce a drama called Ringer and later that year appeared as guest star in All My Children before the show ended.
