Fault Code Information for Whirlpool Cabrio Washing Machines

104 28

    F Code

    • If your Cabrio washer flashes an "F" plus a number, this indicates a fault code. Common fault codes include the "F1" code, which indicates a problem with the control assembly, and the "F2" code, which indicates a stuck key. The "F40" through "F42" codes indicate a problem with your thermistor. For example, the "F42" code means that the thermistor is either shorted out or in the open position. The "F50" through "F54" codes mean that your motor is not working properly. For example, you receive the "F50" code when the motor position sensor does not sense that the basket is moving. Remove any remaining packing material from the tub. Re-engage or clear debris away from the basket if you receive an "F72" code. Press the "Pause/Cancel" button to clear all codes. If it doesn't clear, call for service.

    L Codes

    • An "Ld" code means that water is not properly draining from your tub. Remove any kinks or debris from the drainage hose. The "LF" code indicates that the washer is not filling correctly. Clear any debris or kinks from the inlet hose. The "oL" (unbalanced load) code means that your washer is overloaded, and you must remove some items from the load. Redistribute your laundry if you receive the "oL"/unbalanced code.

    Door Issues

    • Remove laundry or other obstructions from the lid if you receive the "dL" code, which appears if the door/lid will not lock. Remove items from the top of the Cabrio washer lid if you receive the "dU" error code, which means the door/lid cannot unlock. The "lid" or lid opened error means that you must close the lid to start the wash cycle.

    Additional Codes

    • The "Po" or Pump Out error code means that the door has been open for more than 10 minutes, and the drain pump is starting to take the water out of the tub. Close the lid. The "Sd" or Suds Detected error means that you used too much detergent. Reduce the amount of detergent that you use, and properly measure it. Switch the hot and cold hoses if you receive the "HC" error code. The HC code means you have not installed these hoses correctly.
